Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, renowned as Mohbad, has shared a heartfelt account of a woman who reached out to him, asserted that she is carrying his son’s child in the wake of his passing.
In a chat with Ibadan Radio host Oriyomi Hamzat, Mohbad’s father recounted a distressing incident after his son’s passing.
He said a lady, asserting pregnancy, approached him with a one-million-naira demand. Mohbad’s dad said she relentlessly stalked him, confronted him in Ikeja, insisted she bore Mohbad’s child.
Mr Aloba averred that he escorted her to Panti police station, where she remained for two days. Despite police urging compliance, he expressed his inability to meet her extravagant request.
The singer’s father recounted reaching out to his lawyer, and together, they subjected the lady to multiple pregnancy tests, each affirming her claim as untrue. Confirming her deceit, he notified the police. When faced with rectifying the situation, she persisted in demanding one million naira.
Mohbad’s father, choosing a compassionate approach, said he suggested providing food instead. He expressed experiencing numerous challenges since Mohbad’s demise.
Addressing another claim, he expressed skepticism about a person asserting to have his late son’s child, doubting the credibility as it remains a mere rumor on social media.
Mohbad’s father emphasized that the sole child his son acknowledged was Liam, and it is Liam whom he must care for. He expressed that the love he held for Mohbad should be transferred to Liam if DNA verification confirms him as Mohbad’s son.
Reflecting on the days leading to Mohbad’s demise, his father shared a poignant moment when Mohbad, just three days before his passing, joined him for a meal. After finishing, he said Mohbad placed Liam in his arms, capturef the moment with pictures on his iPad.
Highlighting the prayers made before Liam’s birth, Mohbad’s father questioned the need for doubt, yet underscored the necessity of DNA confirmation.
