- Charly Boy has called out Oba of Benin for supporting the Tinubu presidency.
- The Monarch had visited Lagos governor and was quoted to have said God ordained Tinubu to be president.
- Not taking it lying down, Charly Boy asked who the Oba’s sponsor is, to have made him leave his place to make such statement.
Nigerian veteran singer and activist, Charles Oputa aka Charly Boy has taken to Instagram to lambast the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, for saying that Tinubu’s presidency was ordained by God.
Recall that the monarch paid a visit to Gov Babajide SanwoOlu at the state house in Marina over the weekend.
During the visit, the monarch was quoted to have said:
“God has ordained that Tinubu would become President of Nigeria. We are all one. I am for peace and tranquility. We must live together as one. Nigeria is big. We must iron out our differences and learn to live together as one, big family”
Reacting to the monarch’s comment, Charly Boy shared a screenshot of the news and lambasted the revered monarch, asking why he would leave his palace to come to Lagos state to make such a statement. Charly Boy wrote:
“See Oba wey no suppose leave him Palace travel come lagos.
Which kain nonsense talk Oba of Benin dey yarn?
God ordain Tinubu as Nigerian President?
Come ooo, who dey sponsor the Oba, dis one leave him palace to come yarn nonsense for Lagos, e get why.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls Charly Boy disclosed that he doesn’t drink alcohol.
He said he has also been trying to quit smoking but often found himself struggling with the addiction.
Speaking in a recent interview with actress Iyabo Ojo, the maverick singer admitted that he takes a bit of alcoholic wine but maintained that he is not a regular drinker.
