Alleged sexual assault: 18 companies cut ties with rapper, Diddy

Eighteen companies have cut ties with Empower Global, a business founded by Sean Combs, popularly known as Diddy, following series of sexual assault allegations levelled against him.

In the wake of allegations regarding a sexual assault, rap music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs finds himself facing severe repercussions as a total of eighteen companies have decided to sever their ties with the renowned artist.

The alleged incident, has prompted these corporations to distance themselves from Combs, effectively halting any ongoing partnerships or endorsements.

Rolling Stone Magazine received confirmation from the corporations on Sunday.

According to Rolling Stone, a total of 18 firms have severed relations with Diddy’s Empower Global, which was launched in 2021.

Annette Njau, founder of House of Takura, a luxury bag, eyewear, and apparel firm, stated:

We take the allegations against Mr. Combs seriously and find such behavior abhorrent and intolerable.” We believe in and support victims’ rights, even when they are up against the most powerful persons.”

Other businesses that have left Diddy’s organization include Baby Donna, Fulaba, jewelry label, Tsuri, skincare brand, footwear line, and Rebecca Allen.

The announcement comes just days after Jane Doe filed a fourth complaint against the artist, alleging that she was sex trafficked and gang raped in 2003 by Diddy, Harve Pierre, a former Bad Boy Records CEO, and another man when she was 17.

Diddy has also stepped down as chairman of Revolt TV, a media firm he co-founded, in November.

This decision comes amidst sexual assault lawsuits against him by his ex girlfriend, Cassie.

In a statement posted on Tuesday on Instagram, the company said that the change was required to allow Revolt to concentrate on its purpose.

The statement read:

Sean Combs has stepped down from his position as chairman of Revolt. While Mr Combs has previously had no operational role in the business, this decision helps to ensure that Revolt remains steadfastly focused on our mission to create meaningful content for the culture and amplify the voices of all Black people throughout this country and the African diaspora.”

These abrupt terminations have resulted in a significant blow to Diddy’s reputation, leaving both his career and personal life in a state of turmoil while the investigation unfolds.
