Asake gifts ailing Policewoman in viral ‘epp me’ clip N5 million amid claims of him owing her song royalties

The policewoman, who skyrocketed to fame in May 2022 with her plea for help in a viral video, found herself in a pickle after a hit-and-run left her legs in stitches and drowning in medical bills she couldn't foot. Comedian I Go Save took the bull by the horns, rallying the troops on his platform to chip in for her cause. Fans wasted no time knocking on Asake's door, alleging he owed her royalties. True to form, the singer answered the call with gusto, sweetened her pot with a cool N5M.

Asake gifts ailing Policewoman in viral ‘epp me’ clip N5 million amid claims of him owing her song royalties
  • Nigeria’s thriving artist, Asake, touched hearts online with a generous 5 million naira gift to the policewoman from the viral “epp me, epp me” video who sought public support after a hit-and-run accident.
  • The YBNL singer, who incorporated the viral ‘epp me’ slang into his hit song, faced calls to financially assist the policewoman, with many asserting he owed her royalties.
  • Comedian, I Go Save, leading the charge for the policewoman’s cause, informed fans that Asake has taken care of matters and went on to provide further updates on her health.

Following calls from fans for financial support, Asake, the popular Nigerian singer, stepped up and bestowed 5 million naira upon Helen Utabor, the policewoman behind the viral “epp me epp me” trend, who is currently grappling with health issues.

Recall that, Popular comedian, I Go Save, recently  took to his Instagram page to share a video of the ailing officer who was said to have been hit by a vehicle while controlling traffic in Edo. The comedian said she needs 1.5 million naira for treatment.

After catching wind of this, fans flooded social media, urged YBNL music star, Asake, to lend assistance to the woman. Many insisted that he owed her royalties for using her viral ‘epp me epp me’ slang as intro in his hit song ‘Peace Be Unto You’.

In a recent video, I Go Save provided fans with an update on the donations for the ailing officer, revealing that Asake had fulfilled the call for assistance by transferring 5 million naira into her account. He shared screenshots of the transfer transactions as proof.

I Go Save confirmed the policewoman’s positive response to treatment. He criticized high-ranking police officials and politicians for their silence on her health crisis, urging them to provide support.

The comedian also advised police officers against using their uniforms to oppress Nigerians.
