Following calls from fans for financial support, Asake, the popular Nigerian singer, stepped up and bestowed 5 million naira upon Helen Utabor, the policewoman behind the viral “epp me epp me” trend, who is currently grappling with health issues.
Recall that, Popular comedian, I Go Save, recently took to his Instagram page to share a video of the ailing officer who was said to have been hit by a vehicle while controlling traffic in Edo. The comedian said she needs 1.5 million naira for treatment.
After catching wind of this, fans flooded social media, urged YBNL music star, Asake, to lend assistance to the woman. Many insisted that he owed her royalties for using her viral ‘epp me epp me’ slang as intro in his hit song ‘Peace Be Unto You’.
In a recent video, I Go Save provided fans with an update on the donations for the ailing officer, revealing that Asake had fulfilled the call for assistance by transferring 5 million naira into her account. He shared screenshots of the transfer transactions as proof.
I Go Save confirmed the policewoman’s positive response to treatment. He criticized high-ranking police officials and politicians for their silence on her health crisis, urging them to provide support.
The comedian also advised police officers against using their uniforms to oppress Nigerians.
