Uti Nwachukwu has broken his silence, following allegations of impersonation and fraud.
This comes after an American man known as Chef Anthony Thomas took to social media to call out Uti Nwachukwu, a well-known figure in Nigerian media, accusing him of using his identity to deceive followers on Instagram.
Chef Anthony took to X, formerly Twitter to make this hefty accusation, claiming that he caught the media personality when he called him on Instagram.
According to the chef, Uti had created an Instagram account in his name and impersonated him, using a number of his images in order to get gift cards from friends.
He wrote:
“This bastard made a fake IG page with many of my photos. He began requesting my friends as well. He then had the audacity to start begging them for money on Google Play gift cards. Someone sent me the page. I called him on IG, and he answered….”
Reacting to the Chef’s allegations, Uti Nwachukwu took to his Instagram stories to share a throwback clip made on October 19. The OAP claimed that the video is one of those used to scam people online. He captioned the video:
”Na from these Videos scammer save use as tools to tell someone they were coming to them🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
God abeg o😭.”
He added on his Instagram page:
“…and it’s another one! So as u can see this Person has clearly screen grabbed my photo or video and is obviously using another Phone To record that screen grab while answering the phone. Just look at the edges on the photo 2 ….. now look at the video the scammer is blocking… Deep in the Slums! I wish the Victim had added the Audio so we hear this Bastads Voice.
THIS IS WHY I KEEP SAYING STOP DEFENDING FRAUDSTERS
WHEN THEY ARE PICKED UP!
It’s all Hustle It’s all hustle. Una go keep defending until these merciless demons make you one of their victims. @officialecc.”
Also reacting to the American chef’s call out, netizens opined that the scammer was probably using Uti’s image as a cover up, making the actor a victim too.

Yhettyqueen commented: “That’s Uti. Uti made a fake page of you ke??”
