We’ve arrested AKA’s killers, they’re his close associates – Police minister

The ruthless murder of South Africa in February, where he was fatally shot in the head alongside his friend, sent shockwaves globally. Since then, investigations have been in full swing, and the police minister, in an exclusive update, dropped the bombshell that insiders are implicated in the tragic demise.

Police Minister Bheki Cele has provided a recent update on the ongoing investigations into the untimely death of the renowned rapper Kiernan Jarryd, alias AKA.

Recall that the award-winning Hip Hop artist was tragically shot and killed on February 10 outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban, South Africa.

Speaking with Faith Mangope on Metro FM, the minister disclosed that several suspects, identified as close associates of the late AKA, have been apprehended in connection with the killing.

He also revealed that the police successfully located both the murder weapon and the getaway car used on the day of the tragic incident.

Cele mentioned that two suspects are currently in custody, emphasizing that their safety is being prioritized due to the valuable information they possess regarding the orchestration behind the musician’s murder.

His words;

“We have found the getaway car, the gun has been found. They have found two people who I know for sure are kept safe because they know very well what happened on the particular day, who have given information for the police to get the gun, for the police to get the car.

“Those things are in the hands of the police as we speak. We know who we are chasing. And those two guys must be kept very safe because they know what happened on that day, and even beyond what happened, [they know] about the networks that led to the unfortunate murder of AKA.”

The police minister added: “Those people … some of them were hired. Some of those people were close associates.”
