Popular Nollywood actress and businesswoman, Iyabo Ojo, has taken to social media to celebrate her 46th birthday amidst a wave of controversies, drawing attention from both fans and fellow celebrities.
Despite recent incidents, well-wishes from colleagues continue to pour in as she shared stunning photos on her Instagram page.
In a celebratory post, Iyabo Ojo expressed gratitude for attaining her new age, accompanying the photos with a brief note.
“Happy 46th birthday Queen Mother.” Iyabo Ojo wrote.
Notable figures from the entertainment industry, including Rita Dominic, Esther Ene, Chioma Akpotha, Ayo Makun, Toke Makinwa, Stan Nze, Anita Joseph, Deyemi Okanlawon, Susan Peters, and more, flooded her comment section with heartfelt messages.
However, the celebratory atmosphere is juxtaposed with recent controversies surrounding Iyabo Ojo’s behaviour on the reality show, The Real Housewives of Lagos season 2.
The actress had faced criticism for what some labeled as toxic behavior, particularly in a dispute with model Faith Morey.
Responding to the accusations, Iyabo Ojo defended herself by highlighting the editing process of reality shows and explaining that they often shape narratives.
She acknowledged apologizing to Faith Morey privately but faced a public disagreement with the model, who accused her of dishonesty.
Pregnant Laura Ikeji, another participant on the show, publicly criticized Iyabo Ojo, expressing disappointment in her idol and condemning her bullying behaviour.
In response, Iyabo Ojo fired back, accusing Laura of playing the victim and bringing up past issues involving Laura’s sister, blogger Linda Ikeji.
Under pressure, Iyabo Ojo issued public apologies to Faith Morey, Laura Ikeji, and her co-reality stars.
She denounced bullying and acknowledged that her actions may have offended some. In an Instagram live session, Ojo defended her behavior on the show, claiming it was a strategic move to boost ratings.
Subsequently, Ojo criticized the producers of The Real Housewives of Lagos, expressing frustration with their editing choices.
She accused the production team of omitting crucial scenes that led to her outburst, questioning their editing decisions.
