How Blaqbonez found his ‘home training’ following awkward moment at recent performance

How I realised my lyrics are vulgar – Blaqbonez

Popular Nigerian Hip Hop artiste, Emeka Akumefule professionally known as Blaqbonez, has admitted that his lyrics are vulgar.

The rapper took to his X (formerly Twitter) page and shared his experience during a performance at a company’s end-of-the-year party on Tuesday.

Blaqbonez said that he realised his lyrics were vulgar while performing to a group of “mummy’s and daddy’s”.

He said he was looking into their eyes during the performance and their reaction when he dropped some ‘bars’ was something he would never forget.

He wrote;

“Yesterday, I performed at a company’s end of the year party, very mature audience, that was when I realised how vulgar my lyrics actually were.

Looking mummy & daddy in the eye while saying ‘can’t let these fxxking btches see no emotion’ is something I’d never forget 😭

Reacting, Daniel Regha, wrote; Emeka ur lyrics have always been the issue in a majority of your songs; No-one can deny ur talent or unique vocals, but u need to work on your songwriting skills. Keep in mind that kids also have access to streaming platforms & often listen to your songs, so your music shouldn’t be inappropriate.

Another netizen, motivatedpso, commented; It seems like performing for a mature audience made you realise the impact of your lyrics. It’s a valuable lesson, and now you can work on refining your songs to cater to a wider audience. This experience will surely help you grow as an artist and make your performances even more memorable in the future. Keep shining!
