Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu, had earlier shared a screenshot of the WhatsApp message Imade sent to her grandmother, noting how Davido wasn’t there when she needed him.
The message circulating on social media ignited diverse reactions, with many netizens offering passionate takes. A considerable number criticized Sophia Momodu, accusing her of manipulating her daughter to speak against her dad.
Taking to her Twitter page to defend herself, Sophia Momodu fired back, asserting that Nigerians consistently cast her as the antagonist, but she’s unbothered.
She emphasized that children are truthful about their emotions, especially when communicating with their grandparents.
She wrote;
“Y’all want me to be the bad guy sooooo bad and it’s ok, quite frankly I like being the bad guy Chun-Le. But one thing is for sure, kids don’t lie about how they feel. Especially with their grandparents.
You people think this new generation of kids wouldn’t tell you about yourself when you’re moving mad. Better wake up”.

In the WhatsApp chat, Imade called her grandmother one of the few friends she has as she went on to name her other friends. Not stopping there, the little girl spoke about her late brother, Ifeanyi, and her father, Davido.
Imade had allegedly written in her message to her grandma that she had been disappointed since the death of her brother, Ifeanyi, noting how her father, Davido, was not there when she needed him.
