Sophia Momodu addresses backlash trailing daughter, Imade’s message to grandma about Davido abandoning her

Imade poured her heart out in a scorching WhatsApp message to her grandma, a message later shared by her mom, Sophia. In her candid expression, she bared the emotional void left by Davido's absence since her brother, Ifeanyi's, passing. This message stirred a whirlwind of criticism and backlash directed at Sophia, who has now stepped forward to address the issue

Sophia Momodu, the Nigerian fashion entrepreneur, has responded to criticism trailing her daughter Imade’s leaked chat, where she made absentee father allegations against Davido.

Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu, had earlier shared a screenshot of the WhatsApp message Imade sent to her grandmother, noting how Davido wasn’t there when she needed him.

The message circulating on social media ignited diverse reactions, with many netizens offering passionate takes. A considerable number criticized Sophia Momodu, accusing her of manipulating her daughter to speak against her dad.

Taking to her Twitter page to defend herself, Sophia Momodu fired back, asserting that Nigerians consistently cast her as the antagonist, but she’s unbothered.

She emphasized that children are truthful about their emotions, especially when communicating with their grandparents.

She wrote;

“Y’all want me to be the bad guy sooooo bad and it’s ok, quite frankly I like being the bad guy Chun-Le. But one thing is for sure, kids don’t lie about how they feel. Especially with their grandparents.

You people think this new generation of kids wouldn’t tell you about yourself when you’re moving mad. Better wake up”.
