Basketmouth, AY lived in my boys’ quarters – Alibaba

Alibaba reveals two popular rival comedians he accommodated in his home prior fame

Veteran stand-up comedian, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome who is professionally known as Alibaba, has revealed that popular comics, Basketmouth and AY Comedian used to live with him.

He said he allowed the rival entertainers to stay in his boy’s quarters some years ago, when they were still coming up in the industry.

Alibaba made the disclosure when he featured as a guest on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast co-hosted by On-Air Personality, Nedu Wazobia.

The ‘King of comedy’ said:

“Basketmouth and AY… When you think about it, these are people who were living in BQ [boys’ quarters] with me back in the days.”

It may be recalled that Basketmouth and AY had a 17-year rival which was recently squashed when the latter apologised. The beef was said to be based on N30k, and at a point a guest list without an invite.
Subsequently, Basket sent an invite to Ayo Makun to attend his comedy show at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos.

In other news, Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, also known as Iyanya, revealed that his colleague, KCee accommodated him when he first moved to Lagos.

Iyanya made the revelation during an interview with Naija FM 102.7, explaining that Kcee allowed him to stay under his roof for two years.

The ‘Kukere’ crooner revealed that it was the Limpopo hit maker that bought him his first flight ticket from Cross River to Lagos state.

Iyanya also argued with the interview about their similar waist whining styles and noted that Kcee was a better dancer than him.
