Call military to order to avoid coup – Seun Kuti urges Federal government

Seun Kuti urges Sanwo-Olu and the federal government to address the alarming situation of constant harassment by military men and to take decisive steps towards securing a peaceful state.

In a compelling plea to the federal government, afrobeat musician and activist Seun Kuti has issued a stern warning about the potential danger of a coup and urged immediate action to prevent such event.

The contentious musician was responding to the taunts sent towards the Governor by some soldiers for detaining one of their comrades for a traffic infraction.

He pointed out that politicians would likewise be negatively impacted if the military’s excesses are not restrained.

Seun Kuti insists that it is crucial for the federal government to call the military to order and maintain strict discipline amongst their ranks.

Additionally, Seun Kuti made fun of the troops for allegedly threatening to humiliate social media personality VeryDarkMan for supporting Sanwo-Olu’s conduct and asserting that the military only intimidates civilians while fleeing terrorists.

During a live Instagram session, the singer stated:

“I didn’t want to speak on this very matter but when I opened my Instagram this morning, I saw a video of one of the unruly soldiers threatening to humiliate VeryDarkMan for making comment on Sanwo-Olu’s arrest of one of their colleagues. Imagine, in a free country.

“Sanwo-Olu and co, you people don’t understand anything. You think you [politicians] are protected from this [military] boys? Have you forgotten what military coup is? If you guys don’t do your job now, stamp down on this impunity in the armed forces, keep them to their barracks, treat their f*ckups anytime they f*ck up… If any soldier misbehave, make sure the commandant of the barrack he is attached to is removed.
