2Baba remembers late Sound Sultan


Despite it being well over two years since Nigerian singer, Sound Sultan passed on, his colleague and friend, 2baba hasn’t missed an opportunity to celebrate him.

Taking to his Instagram page to remember him, 2baba wrote a note to him as he recounted life-changing events in the industry to him.

The legendary singer told him that their dream and wish for Nigerian and African music has come to pass and now he is an upcoming artiste, but he wouldn’t give up easily to the ‘new cats’. He added that there are lots of stories to tell him, entering the New Year. 2Baba wrote:

“YO Lanre
like play like play we don enter 2024
Plenty story for ground.
That our dream and wish for NAIJA/AFRICA music take over and respect don come true o,
I don even turn to upcoming artist again Lai Dis. But we no go gree
MUTIJU.

ONELOVERELIGION”.

Recall Sound Sultan passed away on July 11, 2021, after battling ‘Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma,’ ‘Cancer of the throat.’

Before his death, Sound Sultan underwent chemotherapy in a hospital in the United States of America.

2baba was one of the few who paid a visit to his grave, while he was in America bonding with his 3 kids from Babymama, Pero Adeniyi.

Taking to his Instagram page, 2baba stated that he went to pay respect to his brother alongside Emma Ugolee, Frankie J, and others.

Marking his first anniversary in 2022, 2baba admitted how badly he missed him, as he took to social media to pay tribute to him.

In February of 2023, 2baba panned a note to him, admitting to missing the singer, and vowing to keep celebrating him till he joins him.
