- The comedian revealed that a good number of celebrity marriages breakdown because it lacks peace.
Popular Nigerian actor, comedian, and on-air personality, Nedu Wazobia, unveils a deeper truth behind the soaring divorce rates in the entertainment industry.
Nedu attributes the primary cause to a lack of emotional support, peace and communication, providing a unique perspective on the real reasons behind the crumbling relationships within this celebrity world.
Nedu stated that he thinks mental health issues can be a legitimate justification for divorce, stressing that divorce is a good choice if being married makes one’s happiness less likely.
He criticized the idea that unhappy marriages should be accepted as one’s “crosses”, arguing that maintaining one’s sanity is crucial.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Nedu stated:
“My take on divorce is, if it doesn’t work, then take a walk. I’m all for peace of mind. Whatever is not giving me peace, I don’t want it. I can’t come and go and kill myself.
“Some people tell you, it’s your cross, carry am. No, na only Jesus dey carry cross. If you’re not giving me peace of mind, then what am I doing with you? Absolutely, nothing. I protect my sanity which is the most important part of who I am. I’m asking people to divorce but ask yourself if you’re going home every day because of the kids and not the person you married. That tells you a lot. If the person you are married to doesn’t give you joy, then what are you doing? If it’s not working, get out.”
In one his podcasts, Nedu Wazobia spills the tea about popular pastor sleeping with his female church members .
Although he did not give any physical evidence, did not mention the said pastor’s name or the name of the church, but averred that he got wind of what was going on in the church through his close friend, who attends the pastor’s church on Lagos Island.
