I receive music inspiration behind the wheel – Gospel artist, Fr Benedict

Catholic priest and gospel singer reveals that he usually find solace and inspirations behind the wheels of his car

Rev. Fr. Benedict Onyemechalu, a Catholic priest and gospel artist, claims that driving is a channel of his creative rebirth, and that he gets inspiration for his songs behind the wheel.

The artist, who is renowned in the music world as FadaBen, divulged the source of his inspiration in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Sunday.

According to NAN, FadaBen is a songwriter and music producer with numerous records under his credit in addition to serving as the parish priest of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Orozo, Abuja.

FadaBen, who just dropped a new album titled “The Magic is in You,” revealed that he enjoys driving and that most of his songs originated while he was on the road.

He emphasized that for him, music is a means of expressing himself, and that he becomes quite restless until he gets his musical ideas out.

Regarding his musical career, the cleric stated that during the next five years, he expects to see FadaBen become well-known.

“I love to drive. Driving is a hobby for me, as well as a channel of creative birthing to a life of ideas and many other stuff.

“The moment I drive in that relaxed disposition, I get to come back home with nothing less than a song or two, depending on the distance covered.

“I believe that the human person is a creative entity. We are all born creative, but some of us just don’t get to realise that from birth even till death.

“Some get to connect to their creative selves at the evening of their lives while others, like some of us, get to discover and explore theirs early enough.

“Once the ideas or inspirations come, I see them as God wanting to minister to some people through the unique gift and sound He has given me.

“I hope to hear my songs, my sounds permeating climes I never envisaged” he said.

FadaBen stated that majority of his tracks are available on digital streaming sites such as YouTube, Apple Music, Spotify, Deezer, Audiomack, Boomplay, SoundCloud, and others.
