- According to Pere Egbi, if BBNaija show was to be a South African or American show, those that have won it wouldn’t have won.
- He asserted that the past winners only won because Nigerians voted them out of pity rather than logic.
Reality star Pere Egbi boldly expressed his opinion on the past winners of BBNaija, stating that they didn’t deserve to win.
He implied that the winners won because Nigerians chose to vote with their feelings over reason.
He claimed that the past winners wouldn’t have won if the reality show had been an American or South African program.
Pere stated that even though he had appeared on the show twice—during the “All Stars edition” in 2023 and the “Shine Ya Eye” season in 2021—he won’t accept to go on it again if the chance arises.
During a recent appearance on Celebrity Quickies, Pere stated:
“My experience in the Big Brother Naija house was a rollercoaster. I had different encounters with different people, experiences that gave me something. Overall, it was good.
“But if I was asked to go back in the [BBNaija] House again, I would not. Simply because I feel Nigerians are not ready for reality TV. A bunch of Nigerians who actually vote for these guys in these shows in Nigeria, especially, Big Brother, are just one-track minded.
“I’m being honest, if this was a South African or American show, I don’t think the people who won will win.”
Pere had also revealed in one of Phyna’s podcast that some BBNaija stars live a ‘fake life’.
He stated that a lot of them flaunt lifestyles that are far out of their reach on social media.
Pere spoke in the latest episode of the Spill With Phyna podcast, hosted by former Big Brother Naija winner, Josephine Otabor, simply known as Phyna. In Pere’s words:
“Some of our BBN colleagues dey live fake life well well. A lot of them.”
The host, Phyna agreed with him, citing the claim by Khloe, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, who said she hasn’t flown in the economy class before.
