- Ebere Nwizu has spoken on how up and coming talents can excel even if they are shut down or experience disappointment at the beginning of their careers.
- The movie star admitted that while filmmakers have always been biased towards new acts, requesting they be taller, more light skinned and more, she emphasized that producers are now requesting ladies have bigger bum to get roles.
- Ebere Nwizu advised that life is more than one’s physique, so aspiring acts should believe in themselves.
Nigerian film actress, Eberechukwu Nwizu, better known as Bhaira Mcwizu or Bayray McNwizu who is popular for starring in hit productions such as The Visit, Tiwa’s Baggage, and more has spoken about the prevalence of producers asking actresses to get bigger bums in order to get roles.
Ebere Nwizu made the disclosure during her most recent appearance on TVC’s Wake Up Nigeria.
During the interview, Ebere was asked:
“There has been a trend recently where someone said that with a number of actresses, they’re expected to get cosmetic surgeries. I have this particular friend who said that she could act and then she went to producer and producer was like “you’re good but you won’t go far, go and do a surgery”, told her straight up. What do you think this does to the psyche of a young girl who is coming into this industry, and why do you think it is now so rampant?”
Ebere seemed not to be shocked by the question and urged up and coming acts to do their thing without being boxed into a corner by movie producers who ask they undergo Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), before they can be given befitting roles.
This is what Ebere Nwizu had to say:
“There is a lot that can be said about that. Ten years ago, if someone tells you that, you can be heartbroken and feel like there’s no [hope]. But then, it was you’re not fair enough, you’re not tall enough, you’re not phoné enough. Now it’s you don’t have bum enough.
I’m not even going to talk about whoever said whatever they said, I’m going to talk about what are you going to do about that? Now there’s a lot of platforms you can do your own stuff and grow. You don’t have any excuse anymore.
Yeah there are always going to be those guys who say you have to do this if you want to be in my movie, so what about you? What are you going to do as a young woman or old woman or whatever? You have to do something.
There is Youtube, there is Amazon. You can create your own stuff and put it there gradually, and then you grow. Then one day, they’ll want to be on your own platform. I mean see Sabinus, see all of them, they’re cashing out – and Sabinus doesn’t have the [big bum] anatomy.”
