- VeryDarkman has vented out at the organizers of the Grammy Awards following the loss of Nigerian artists.
- The activist insinuated that the organizers cheated the artists out of their very much deserved award.
- VeryDarkman claimed Nigerians didn’t win because the artists have taken afrobeats global and they are trying to shut them down.
Popular activist, VeryDarkman has examined the grounds on which the Grammy Awards’ ignored all nominated Nigerian artists.
Recall that five Nigerian artists were nominated for Grammy Awards in 2024: Burna Boy, Davido, Asake, Olamide, and Ayra Starr. However, none of them took home the award.
In reaction to Nigerian artists loss, VeryDarkMan criticized the Grammys, claiming that they are attempting to prevent Afrobeat from obtaining complete control over them.
Buttressing his points, VeryDarkMan claimed that the Shakti’s album, “This Moment” that won the Best Global Music Album doesn’t have up to 1 million total views on YouTube.
He also claimed that he had no idea who Tyla was up until yesterday and her song, “Water” was hyped by Ayra Starr, who he thought sang the song.
VeryDarkman claimed that in an effort to make the awards ceremony more exciting, numerous nominations were extended to Nigerian performers.
He captioned his post:
”Grammy is the most yeye award at this point, wtf happened to it.”
