Nigerian singer, Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, widely recognized as Ayra Starr, appears to be on the verge of entering a new fashion era because of her parent’s suggestion.
The self-proclaimed “Sabi girl,” well known for her penchant for short skirts and dresses, revealed that her mother has advised her to ditch her short skirts and start wearing longer skirts.
She made this disclosure on X, formerly Twitter, while sharing a video of herself rocking a two-piece outfit comprising a thigh-length skirt and matching crop top. She captioned the video:
“My mom said I should start wearing longer skirts,”
This comes days after she was criticized for wearing a short and revealing outfit to the 66th Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles over the weekend.
She seemingly took heed to the criticisms as she attended an event on Tuesday, February 6, and opted to wear a longer skirt with a slit at the front and a silver bralette instead of her usual short skirts.
She then teased Nigerians that she wears long skirts too and shared the photos as proof. Ayra Starr wrote:
“I wear long skirt oh 🙃.”
