Veteran music star, Timaya, revealed his experience with drug addiction which began during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
During an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM, Timaya acknowledged his past involvement with drugs, emphasizing that he is not without fault.
Recounting how it started, he stated that it was during the lockdown when he visited some young men who appeared very content and happy despite not having as much as he had.
As a leader with substantial wealth, Timaya inquired about their source of happiness. They confessed to using Molly, a type of drug, which intrigued Timaya. After trying it, he found immense joy, and as a result even gave away his money due to the joy he experienced at that moment.
However, his habit escalated, leading to significant weight loss as he consumed three pills daily.
He revealed that he lost a lot of money as a result of this.
According to him, brands were no longer interested in working with him and he developed a reluctance to follow up business calls as he felt he only had what provided him with the joy and happiness he needed in life.
