How NFF, the players abandoned me – Singer who composed popular Super Eagles’ gyration song speaks (VIDEO)

No doubt, the Super Eagles team is smashing it at AFCON 2023, making Nigerians beam with pride. On several occasions, the players have been seen busting out victory dances, grooving to the team's beloved anthem, 'Walele.' However, the song's creator, Austino Milado, has spoken out about how his tune has fueled the team's motivation. He bitterly lamented the lack of recognition from both the players and the NFF, despite providing them with a solid anthem to groove to.

How NFF, the players abandoned me – Singer who composed popular Super Eagles’ gyration song speaks (VIDEO)
  • Austino Milado, the singer behind the beloved Super Eagles anthem, has expressed his frustration at feeling neglected.
  • Milado composed and sang the hit track ‘Super Eagles Carry Go,’ which has become a fixture in the hearts of Nigerians who chant it during football tournaments.
  • The Super Eagles players often groove, chant, and feel the vibes of the tune, famously dubbed ‘Walele’, during soccer spectacles like the ongoing African Cup of Nations.

Austino Milado, the Nigerian singer who sang the popular football song ‘Super Eagles Carry Go’ has resurfaced online .

In a video shared by content creator Lucky Udu, Milado opened up about feeling neglected after composing and performing the song, now hailed as a football anthem.

Milado took the opportunity to narrate the process behind releasing the song, alternatively called ‘Walele,’ revealed his aspiration for the song to elevate his career.

He, however, lamented that his dream of gaining recognition through the popular street anthem never materialized because neither the Super Eagles team nor the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) acknowledged him.

When asked if he attempted to reach out to the NFF, he revealed that he contacted the marketing manager in 2002, only to be threatened with legal action for using the Super Eagles brand in his song without permission.

Milado admitted he eventually gave up and returned to the streets, where he now works in real estate, aiming to find success from there.

According to him, Wednesday’s match took some good people away and questioned why such an unfortunate thing had to happen.
