Popular actor Yul Edochie has broken his silence following a wave of criticism over a false prophecy he made regarding the outcome of the Super Eagles’ AFCON match against Ivory Coast.

In a now-deleted social media post, Yul predicted that the Super Eagles would secure a comfortable victory against Ivory Coast without resorting to a penalty shootout.

Today’s game will not get a penalty shootout. Nigeria will comfortably defeat the Ivory Coast.”  Yul wrote.

However, the match did not happen as he had foreseen, leading to widespread backlash from disappointed fans.

After the match ended with a penalty shootout, during which Nigeria ultimately emerged victorious, many Nigerians took to social media to express their dissatisfaction with Yul’s inaccurate prediction.

Acknowledging the disappointment felt by fans, Yul Edochie took to his social media page to address the situation and offer words of consolation to Nigerians.

In his post, he expressed gratitude to the Super Eagles for their performance throughout the tournament and emphasized the pride Nigerians should feel in the team’s journey to the finals.

In his words;

It is well. Thank you Super Eagles. Getting to the finals is as good as winning. We are proud of you all. Great performance in the tournament.

“Win or lose, good or bad, we’ve been here. I love my country Nigeria. Better days ahead. Giant of Africa.”

In related news, Popular Nigerian actor Yul Edochie, who transitioned into a self-ordained pastor, is facing heavy criticism after his first prophecy about the outcome of the AFCON finals between Nigeria and Ivory Coast turned out to be false.
