Nigerian Afropop sensation, Stanley Omah Didia, professionally addressed as Omah Lay, has revealed that he’s taking a sabbatical from music.

The ‘Understand’ crooner took to his Instagram story moments ago to make the announcement as he informed his fans not to expect new music from him anytime soon. Omah Lay wrote:

“I am not giving you new music anytime soon.”

He didn’t disclose the reason for his break from music. However, in another post, the singer stated;

“I need a little more love.”

Omah Lay’s decision has left several of his fans wondering if his constant lamentation about depression is finally taking a toll on him. Many still pleaded with the singer to reconsider his position.

In a similar story, Nigerian ghetto dancehall star, Oche Gabriel Amanyi, professionally known as Terry G, has announced his retirement from music.

The 37-year-old artiste made the announcement through his Instagram page with a video message, where he explained that he is quitting music due to personal reasons that he is not willing to share.

Terry G emerged on the music scene in 2006 when he featured on female Hip Hop artiste, Kemistry’s hit single “Shake”. He went on to become a household name in 2009 after working with AY.Com on ‘Pass Me Your Love.’

He appreciated his loyal fans for their support over the years and noted that his decision might hurt them but it was for his best interest.

He captioned the clip;

“It’s Been A Journey”

“A big thank you to my fans for staying through with me all these years. I really appreciate you all. It was amazing years back-to-back. Thank you all for the love.

“But I’m about to make a big announcement. I know it’s going to hurt a lot of people but I have my personal reasons. I’m quitting music. I’m done. And I really appreciate you guys for showing me so much love, my fans thank you God bless you.”
