- In an interview with Kola Olootu, Olaiya set the record straight that his apology doesn’t mean he regrets campaigning for the President.
- He stated that if opportunity comes again, he would still campaign for Tinubu again.
Despite recently apologizing to Nigerians for endorsing Bola Tinubu during the 2019 presidential elections, actor Olaiya Igwe has done a complete U-turn, stating that he does not regret supporting the president and would do it again if given the opportunity.
Recall that Olaiya Igwe made waves last year when he posted a video of himself n@ked praying for Tinubu to win the 2023 presidential election.
Olaiya justified his actions at the time by claiming that Tinubu’s wife had assisted him during difficult times. He described how Remi Tinubu took care of him when he was ill.
In an interview with TVC’s “Your View,” he reiterated his previous statement that he had received a supernatural instruction to carry out the task.
However, a year later, in an Instagram post, he apologized to Nigerians for the video, citing the revelation he received regarding Tinubu
He claims that Tinubu has been a huge assistance to him, particularly with regard to his health.
Sadly, Nigerians didn’t accept his apologies and dragged him on social media.
In a recent interview with Kola Olootu, Olaiya clarified that his apology does not imply that he regrets endorsing President Tinubu.
He declared that he would still campaign for him if another opportunity comes up.
He restated that the divine voice instructed him to undress and go to the shore to pray for Tinubu to win the election.
In his words:
“It was God who told me to go to the beach n@ked to campaign for Tinubu. Some people are saying I regret campaigning for Tinubu. I DO NOT regret campaigning for Tinubu, I will do it again if have the opportunity”.
Question: Did you regret, going naked and campaigning for Bola Tinubu?
Olaiya Igwe: "I did not regret it, I only apologize because many of my audience (fans) were angry I went NAKED if I have another opportunity to do anything or another campaign for Tinubu, I will do it" pic.twitter.com/AnYBz0CMHv
