In her quest to discover if there are still men who value and respect individuals like her, the "still smiling" crooner hits the streets. She approached a passerby, questioning if he would consent to his son marrying a woman with one leg like hers, Little did she expect the startling response that awaited her.


Nollywood’s own Doris Akonanya, aka Doris Still Smiling, boldly took to the streets to gauge whether there are still men out there willing to embrace and love a physically challenged individual like herself.

In a circulating video clip fueled by curiosity, she’s captured engaging a man, probing him, keen to know his stance on whether he’d endorse his son marrying a woman with a singular limb like hers.

In his response, the man affirmed he’d have no issue with his son marrying a woman with a singular limb, expressing his openness to such a union.

He illustrated a scenario that even if the lady lost her leg post-wedding, he would stand by her side regardless.

The gentleman extended his arms for a hug, and the actress reciprocated. Doris, deeply moved by his response and heartfelt gesture, expressed her gratitude with sincere thanks.

This is coming few months after Doris Akonanya opened up on the challenges of having a beautiful love life as a physically challenged person.

On Yam Kontent Factory’s podcast, the actress shared how her parents’ negligence cost her one of her legs at a young age.

On how being physically challenged has ruined her chances of finding love, Doris stated that many men dated her out of pity.

She shared a scenario where one guy in school persistently pursued her, and she mistook it for genuineness, whereas a bet had been placed on her.

In another case, Doris revealed she dated someone who cheated on her to her face because he thought being with her out of pity was a favour.
