Nigerian singer Peruzzi has threatened to sue a social media influencer who stirred controversy online with a fake tweet implicating him in a scandal involving his record label boss, Davido, and Davido’s wife, Chioma.

The controversy erupted when a Twitter user, @belikebaddy, created a photoshopped tweet allegedly from Peruzzi’s account, suggesting that Davido had severed ties with him due to an alleged affair with Chioma.

Peruzzi promptly distanced himself from the fabricated tweet, asserting that it was entirely false and manipulated.

In response to the doctored tweet, Peruzzi issued a warning to @belikebaddy, cautioning him about the potential legal consequences of spreading false information.

Subsequently, @belikebaddy publicly tendered an apology and acknowledged responsibility for the fabricated tweet.

“I apologize for posting an edited tweet which involved @peruzzi and @davido. I take full responsibility for all my actions have caused, and I promise it’ll never happen again. My apologies to DMW Management,” he wrote.

However, Peruzzi remained resolute in his decision to pursue legal action.

Expressing his determination to seek legal recourse, Peruzzi called upon his followers to support the cause, urging them to spread awareness and assist in raising funds for the court case.

“Y’all retweet this, so he can have money for court. God forgives, I do too. But not this time. F**k that.”
