‘I don’t like being referred to as underrated artist’ – Waje

Waje warns that she doesn't like to be referred to as an underestimated artist


Nigerian singer and songwriter Waje recently out about being labeled as an underrated artist.

Fans of Waje have been calling the singer “underrated,” claiming that she should receive more recognition for her talent and contributions to the music industry.

However, in the most recent episode of the Secrets Behind the Scenes podcast, Waje stated that she does not want to be regarded as an underestimated artist.

She added that “underrated” is not a nice compliment, as many people believe, noting that the way one views success is between them and their mind.

She said:

“I do not like being addressed as an underrated artist. Words have power. Some people might celebrate it [being called underrated] and make it like, ‘People see who I am and that’s why they said so.’

Your perception of success is between you and your mind.”

In 2022, Waje Dropped Third Studio Album, ‘W.A.J.E 2.0’ .

The songstress had earlier announced that ‘W.A.J.E 2.0’ will kick off the re-emergence of the brand Waje while describing the body of work as “intentional, fit, stronger, and wholly refreshed” with a voice like her fans have never heard before.

On the new album, Waje featured Tiwa Savage and Falz, amongst other musicians. She teamed up with producers like Masterkraft, DJ Coublon, Major Bangs, and LeriQ, just to mention a few.

Premiering the new project, Waje said;

“Finally, the time has come to begin a new chapter, a new journey and a new expression of me. I am making the brightest stars out of the constellation of my life; I am super excited for you to come along with me as this story unfolds.”
