Yul Edochie, the Nigerian actor, has ignited a frenzy on social media by reaffirming his close relationship with the Nigerian transgender personality, Bobrisky.
In a recent interview, Yul Edochie went on to characterize the social media sensation as “my person” in a move that has set tongues wagging and eyebrows raised across the internet.
The actor said “I address her as she because that is what she wants”. The film star also said he likes to make “my people happy”.
“Bobrisky na my padi oh but I don’t know if the things that she does are real,” he said.
“But I will be honest, she is my person and we are very very close. For me, I address her as she. The reason is because I love to make people happy.
“If you come out and say your name is no longer John it’s Yul, if that’s what makes you happy, then I don’t have to tell you to do something different. What will I gain?
“I address her as she because that is what she wants. If she comes out tomorrow to say she is no longer Bobrisky and that she is not doing again, then I will address her as anything that makes her happy.

Bobrisky has made the headlines on numerous occasions for claiming to be Nigeria’s first transgender.
She once admitted to having severed her genitals. In January, she shared revealing pictures of her newly acquired breasts on Instagram.
The social media celebrity had in 2020 revealed that she opted for cross-dressing to make ends meet after 25 years of being a man.
In September 2021, Bobrisky also talked about some of the perks she enjoys being a “woman”.
