Davido vs Wizkid: Drama brews as Seyi Awolowo chooses better singer

• Big Brother Naija’s Seyi Awolowo has picked his favourite singer after he was given two options — Davido or Wizkid,  to pick from.
• Speaking in a recent interview, the reality TV star and grandson of the legendary Obafemi Awolowo, chose Wizkid over Davido after a short indecision.
• Asked to choose between Alibaba and AY, he picked the former.

33-year-old Big Brother Naija reality star, Seyi Awolowo has picked a favourite between two of the biggest singers in Nigeria, namely Ayo Balogun aka Wizkid and David Adeleke, better known as Davido.

In a recent chat with Hip TV, the reality star who is also the grandson of Obafemi Awolowo was asked to choose between Wizkid and Davido and after dilly-dallying, he eventually picked Wizkid. Seyi Awolowo said:

“No, don’t do that to me. These are our national treasures. Don’t make me choose one. Please, don’t do that to me [laughs].

“…Wow! Okay, I would say Wiz [Wizkid].”

Asked to choose between Alibaba and AY, Seyi said, “Wow! Alibaba.”

He also said he would choose Headies over Grammys, and AMVCA over Oscars.

He added that he would choose Lagos over his hometown.

Days ago, Wizkid seemingly reacted to reports of him impacting the Nigerian music industry.

Remi Aluko earlier said the Grammy award winner impacted the industry with his new style by reducing the length time of music.

Wizkid said his journey as a musician is just about to begin while speaking on his achievements as a famous musician, both locally and internationally.

The ‘Essence’ star said this in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra, adding that music is something he will do forever.

Wizkid in the recent interview insinuated that he doesn’t see himself as someone who has achieved anything major in the music industry and because of that, he may never retire.
