Timini speaks on taking a break from acting to rest


Popular Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson reveals plans for next year, announced that he will be going on a sabbatical.

Opening up on his schedule, Timini stated that he has been moving from set to set for years and barely have enough sleep or time for himself.

He revealed this while speaking in a recent podcast with content creator, Kamsi Nnamani.

He stated that for fourteen years now, since he made his first appearance in a movie, he hasn’t had more six hours sleep, and has forgotten what it feels like to truly rest.

He highlighted that it was about time he took a break.

In his words:

“I only rest when I go out at night. I only sleep five hours to six hours a day. And then keep the work going. But next year I’m going on a sabbatical. I have been acting for the past fourteen years consistently. There has never been a downtime or a time when I’m just chilling. And I did not say that with pride. I say that with all humility. It has just been God.”

He revealed that he started acting the day he followed his sister, actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande to sets.

In another story, Timini Egbuson opens up on his journey into acting and first big pay cheque.

In an interview, the actor revealed how he defied conventional wisdom and pursued his passion for acting despite discouragement from those around him.

Timini recounted how many people advised him against venturing into Nollywood, citing a perceived lack of financial reward in the industry.

According to Timini Egbuson, his breakthrough came when he successfully auditioned for a role in the MTV “Shuga” series.

Upon receiving his first substantial pay cheque from the project, Timini Egbuson recounted feeling astounded.

Reflecting on his early success, Timini emphasized his commitment to the craft and his desire to secure more lucrative opportunities in the industry.
