Fresh footage from Solidstar's candid interview on his struggle with drug addiction has just hit the internet, adding more spice to his story. This time, he delves into his eye-opening experience at a prestigious psychiatric facility where he underwent treatment for mental illness. He openly expressed his shock at witnessing individuals with even more profound mental health battles than his own, painting a vivid picture of his journey to recovery

Renowned Nigerian vocalist, Joshua Iniyezo, famously known as Solid Star, has opened up about his firsthand encounter as a patient at the renowned psychiatric institution in Lagos, colloquially referred to as Yaba Left.

During his appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, the music star poignantly disclosed his time spent alongside other individuals with mental challenges in the same hospital ward.

Recall that Solid Star recently shared his struggle with addiction to hard substances, particularly Ice, and revealed how he first encountered it in 2021.

In a recent video posted on @Nedu_Official’s Instagram page, he recounted witnessing various degrees of mental instability during his time at Yaba Left.

Solid Star noted that he wasn’t confined to a private ward but shared a general ward with other individuals facing mental challenges. He described how they all had to share a single toilet and bathroom among thirty of them.

He reflected on witnessing some patients exhibiting intense manifestations of their conditions, that prompted him to contemplate the circumstances that led them to that point.

In his words:

“I come go meet myself for Yaba again, this one no funny o, this one I no go private ward o. This one dem tell me say ‘you go see mad people’. I see people wey mad pass me.

No be private place, na general place where different mad people dey stay so everybody dey together. Ah God! That place! The toilet na just one wey everybody dey use and we be like 30 for that place.

“Different characters, you go just sit down person go just dey, e go just dey shout, me wey I think say I bad! Omo! I just dey calm dey check say na so these ones their own be? These ones wetin dem take like this?”
