Ossai Ovie Success, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has criticized gospel singer, Theophilus Sunday over his pre-wedding photoshoot with his fiancée, Ashley White.
On Tuesday, March 19th, the gospel artiste announced his engagement to Ashley White, his Jamaican lover, and shared their pre-wedding photoshoot in anticipation of their wedding.
In the images, the couple appeared in white attire, with the gospel singer holding his fiancée’s waist.
In response, Ossai expressed disapproval, citing the act of holding the waist of a woman who is not one’s wife as taboo in tradition and immoral in Christianity.
Given the singer’s status as a Minister of God, Ossai criticized Theophilus for projecting immorality to the world through the photo.
Ossai conveyed that God disapproves of the photo, equating holding a woman’s waist, not one’s wife, to engaging in fornication with her.
He emphasized the inappropriateness of the action in all aspects and urged Theophilus Sunday to reflect on the positioning and implications of his actions.
Addressing the gospel singer directly, Ossai urged him to acknowledge the gravity of his actions and seek forgiveness from God for perpetuating such behaviour.
He wrote:
“Dear Gospel singer Theophilus Sunday, Holding your fiancé waist is an immoral act
This is against the body of Christ.
Holding a woman waist that is not your wife is a taboo traditionally and an immoral act in Christianity.
As a minister of God, you are passing immorality to the world with this kind of photo.
God is not happy with you right now because holding a woman waist that is not your wife is same thing as having canal knowledge of her.
Look at her waist, see the positioning and also look at what makes you a man.
You will understand what I am saying.
This is wrong in all ramifications.
