British royal Princess Kate reveals she has cancer and is in chemotherapy

Princess Kate opens up on serious health issue

Kate Middleton, the revered Princess of Wales, has been forthright about her ongoing battle with cancer.

The public was informed of this important health update on Friday through an emotional video, which represented a serious time of vulnerability for the British Royal Family.

This news comes after Kensington Palace earlier on January 17th disclosed that Princess Kate had been brought in for “planned abdominal surgery.”

Although the first thoughts were that it was not a malignant problem, further tests revealed that it was cancer.

The type is still unknown, albeit, as Kensington Palace insisted:

“We will not be sharing any further private medical information. The Princess has a right to medical privacy, as we all do.”

Giving an emotional speech, princess Kate started:

“I want to thank you for the wonderful messages of support we have received.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”

The princess acknowledged the shock this revelation caused her and Prince William, highlighting the tremendous personal struggle they have had to endure in order to accept this truth.

She highlighted the delicate strategy they used to break the news to their kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, making sure it was done in an age-appropriate way and with a hopeful message.

My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” Kate said.

She conveyed hope and the comfort she finds in William, her spouse, and the support she has received from people all across the world.
