Nigerian singer and dancer Akinmayokun Awodumila, popularly known as May D, has set social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, abuzz with discussions surrounding an unpaid debt linked to food and beverage expenses.

May D, celebrated for his 2013 hit track “Ile Ijo,” found himself publicly called out by a self-identified waitress. She took to the platform to share detailed screenshots of receipts and excerpts from her WhatsApp conversation with the singer’s management, firmly insisting on the settlement of the outstanding debt..

While the original post has since been removed, its impact reverberated across the platform, capturing May D’s attention in the process.

In a tweet, the singer urged critics to cease their scrutiny, citing his current financial struggles. However, he sparked a flurry of reactions when he made a jest about reimbursing the lady at the month’s end.
