- Nkechi in reaction questioned the value of VDM’s fame to Nigerians, emphasizing the government’s power over individuals.
Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing has strongly criticized the comment made by celebrity blogger, Tunde Ednut, regarding the arrest of Verydarkman.
Ednut who’s backing VDM stated that the socialite’s popularity would soar upon his release, citing a pattern where individuals detained in Nigeria often experience increased fame afterward.
In reaction, Nkechi tackled Ednut, questioning the benefit VDM’s envisioned popularity would yield for Nigerians. She asked whether it would ameliorate economic challenges.
Nkechi Blessing noted that once the government is out to deal with a person, nobody can save him or her.
Disparaging Ednut’s comments as nonsensical, Nkechi highlighted the ease with which VDM exploit trending topics for relevance. She added that she can do the same but she’s not a clout chaser.
In her words:
“He go come out come become more popular. Who him popularity help? Abi Ogun dey kee all of una? Him popularity reduce prices of things for market.
If govt decides to mess you up, the people wey you know, no go fit save you. Open mouth WA dey spill trash.
Everyone has data, everyone has ring light, we can also jump on trending issues to stay relevant, but we are not clout chasers as many assume. Learn to know when to STFU!!!”.

A few months ago, Nkechi Blessing found herself at odds with VeryDarkMan.
The dispute stemmed from allegations that Nkechi Blessing had been promoting a skincare brand without a NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control) number, and it quickly escalated into a public spat.
The controversy began when an Instagram user raised concerns about a skincare product that Nkechi Blessing had endorsed on her platform.
The user specifically mentioned VeryDarkMan, who had previously gained recognition for exposing a skincare brand lacking a NAFDAC registration.
Nkechi Blessing responded defiantly to the user’s comment, daring VeryDarkMan to take action and criticizing the IG user in the process.
In response to Nkechi Blessing’s challenge, VeryDarkMan decided to investigate the product in question.
His findings allegedly revealed that the brand did not possess a NAFDAC number.
Unhappy with VeryDarkMan’s investigations, Nkechi Blessing took to a live video on social media to express her frustration and issued a warning, cautioning him not to cross her path.
During her live video, she displayed what she claimed was the NAFDAC number on one of the brand’s products, attempting to refute the allegations.
