Okuama: It’s a crime to push, slap or kill a soldier man – Comedian AliBaba
  • Alibaba condemned the act, stated that the horrible murder of the soldiers demonstrates how bad our society has gotten.
  • He called on the Public Complaints Commission, and other institutions established to ease tensions and restore public confidence.

Nigerian comedian Atunyota Akpobome, better known by his stage as AliBaba, has denounced as very reprehensible the recent execution of seventeen Nigerian Army personnel in Delta.

Recall that On March 14, at least 17 senior military officials and troops from the 181 Amphibious Battalion, tasked to settle hostilities between Okuoma and Okoloba villages in Delta, were ambushed and killed in Okuama Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state.

In an interview with reporters in Lagos, comedian Alibaba condemned the conduct, stating that the brutal killing of the troops smelt of undermining social values.

The comedian claimed that the killing of troops demonstrated how inadequate moral conduct is in the country.

He stated that anyone harmed by the wrongdoings of any public servants, including military, should gather proof and file a complaint with the appropriate authorities.

He said:

“Overseas, when you are travelling, they (airport authorities) board the military personnel first as well as retired officers.

“What it means is that we need to begin to know our values totally in the country. This is unfortunate.

“You do not respect the military that protects you, you went ahead to then kill them, whatever the reason you have, it is a huge crime.

“You don’t kill a soldier man, you don’t even push him, slap him or resist an arrest. It is a crime”.

Akpobome called on the National Orientation Agency, the Public Complaints Commission, and other organizations set up to ease tensions and regain public trust.

In another story, Alibaba opens up on why his father disowned and kept malice with me for over 10 years .

Featuring as a guest in the Christmas edition of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Alibaba recalled leaving the university to inform his dad about his intention to become a comedian and how his reaction forced him to abscond from home.

He said he became determined to be a successful comedian in a bid to prove his father wrong.
