Appearing in a recent interview with Arise TV, Jidekene was asked about the AMVCA nominations and whether he felt upset about the snub.

The host asked:

What do you think about the nominations for AMVCA? Where you a bit upset about the snub?”

Sharing his perspective, Jidekene replied:

“Well, experience teaches you that everytime there is always going to be a generational shift. Sometimes, the people who do these awards have targets. It could be, ‘Let’s make sure we bring on new people or let’s make sure the veterans know that we see them.’ It could also be, ‘Last year we went that way, this year let’s go this way.’ I don’t know what they think about when they make the selections that they make. But I do believe that collectively, there would always be news about whatever selections that they made.

“So my advice would be, it is a win win for everybody. Whatever your motivations are, it shouldn’t be limited to awards because at the end of the day, if you made good films or you are getting better roles than you did last year, you are winning. And our real focus is to feed the Nigerian film market. Not necessarily about who is where or who is not where.”

In another story, Jide Ekene opens up on acting career, female admirers.

It is generally believed that even his female colleagues want more from him since his debut in the movie industry. Jide Ekene said:

Hrmmm, the world is run by women to be honest, in every home now, for any marriage that is upstanding, you will realise the woman is boss as long as there’s love. I appreciate the love of all my female fans in everything but I can only belong to one person at the end of the day but I can also belong to all but not in every departments. Trust me like I have a foundation that support single mothers. You know people from single parents, who are finding it difficult, so I understand these things so I want to work effectively. I prayed for this day, I did pray to be here to have this influence so the best way to return glory to God is to actually use it well.”
