Tragic news has struck the Nollywood community as famous actor Jnr Pope reportedly drowns to death while filming.

Just hours after sharing a video of himself on a boat on Instagram, the actor met his untimely demise at Marine Cable Point in Asaba during a movie shoot.

In the video he posted on IG, the actor could be heard crying out over the risk he was taking; plying river niger without a life jacket.

He had written:

“See me lamenting……The risk we take to entertain you ; crossing river 9ja yesterday with no life jacket…… Na wahoooooo …. Who does that ??” 

The sudden loss of Junior Pope has left his fans and colleagues in shock and mourning, as they grapple with the heartbreaking reality of his sudden departure.

This comes after Veteran Kannywood star, Saratu Gidado, better known as Daso has sadly passed on at the age of 56 on April 9th.

The heartbreaking news was broken by close relatives who spoke to Freedom Radio.

Daso was discovered lifeless on Tuesday morning, as recounted by her grieving family members.

They disclosed that Daso was found dead after returning to bed upon partaking in Sahur, the pre-dawn meal during Ramadan fasting.

The unexpected passing of Daso has sent shockwaves through the industry and her admirers, leaving them in a state of deep mourning and disbelief.

Born on January 17, 1968, in Kano, Daso carved her name in the sands of time through her remarkable performances, particularly in comical roles where she portrayed assertive and mischievous characters.

Making her debut in the year 2000 with the movie “Linzami Da Wuta,” produced by Sarauniya Movies, Daso quickly captured the hearts of audiences with her exceptional talent and versatility.

Among her repertoire of hit films that propelled her to stardom are “Nagari,” “Gidauniya,” “Mashi,” and “Sansani.”

Her vibrant presence and impeccable acting skills endeared her to fans across the Hausa-speaking regions and beyond, solidifying her status as a prominent figure in the Kannywood landscape.
