Boat Accident: It's a normal thing here, When you complain too much they stop calling you – Jide Awobona

Nigerian actor cum filmmaker, Jide Awobona has backed movie producer, Adanma Luke amid derogatory comments on her.

Adanma Luke is the producer of the movie the late Junior Pope Odonwodo simply known as Junior Pope was filming during his death.

Recall Nollywood was again thrown into mourning following the news of Junior Pope’s tragic passing on Wednesday night, April 11.

The talented movie star was said to have drowned while returning from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat when they fell into Anam River in Anambra State. Their bodies have since been recovered.

Many blamed the lack of life jacket, divers and medical personnel on ground for his death. They particularly berated Adanma Luke for not making these necessities available prior going aboard a boat.

Reacting, Jide Awobona claimed it has become normal for actors to shoot movies under dangerous circumstances. He added that if there are complaints, they get cut off.

Jide Awobona wrote:

“It could have been anyone of us, stop dragging this producer, it’s a norm here, when you refuse to do certain things they tag you difficult and call you unprofessional, with the usual line” were you not paid, didn’t you read the script” when you complain too much, they stop calling 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️.”

Before Junior Pope’s death, he posted a video on his Instagram page on Wednesday, while on a boat without a life jacket, begging the captain to go slowly.

The Nollywood actor told his followers to see how actors risk their lives to entertain them.
