Jerry Amilo apologizes, deletes video of Junior Pope’s corpse following severe criticism


Nigerian film actor, Jerry Amilo has deleted a video showing the body of the late Junior Pope who died in a boat accident.

Junior Pope was confirmed dead on Wednesday night after several attempts to resuscitate him failed. The actor alongside other crew members drowned in the River Niger area on their way back from the set of Another Side of Life, a movie produced by Adanma Luke.

Jerry who was at the hospital where Junior Pope was confirmed dead, shared a video of himself and the national president of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Emeka Rollas on Instagram on Thursday, staring at their colleague’s corpse.

The video sparked reactions as many, including his colleagues criticised him, for posting the video online.

Following the backlash, Jerry Amilo was forced to take down the video. WITHIN NIGERIA’s check on his Instagram account shows that the video has been pulled down.

He also shared another video apologizing for sharing Junior Pope’s clip, stating that he didn’t do it for clout.

Jerry Amilo added that he shared the video of the deceased to clear the air following different versions of what took place. See post below:

Meanwhile, Nigerian singer, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger has opened up on leaving his former record label, Jonzing World which is owned by D’Prince.

The singer who left the record label in February of 2024 said they got too comfortable making money off him without being enthusiastic about helping him grow bigger.

Ruger added that he wouldn’t share more detail for fear of being stabbed.
