The Nigerian Correctional Services, NCoS, has stepped up to address the burning question regarding the specific wing within their prison ward where the notorious cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, will be confined for the entirety of his six-month sentence.
On Friday, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court sentenced Bobrisky to six months imprisonment for naira mutilation.
Bobrisky was charged before Justice Awogboro by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The crossdresser was sentenced to six months of imprisonment without the option of a fine for naira mutilation.
Before the sentence was pronounced, the judge asked Bobrisky about his sex.
“I am a man,” he quickly replied.
Discussing where Bobrisky will be held, a spokesperson from the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS), as reported by the Gazette, mentioned that Bobrisky will be kept in the male section of the prison facility throughout his six-month imprisonment.
“Since he admitted to being a male in court, then we have to abide by what was submitted in court,” the Gazette quoted a correctional spokesperson.
“He shouldn’t be afraid of sexual assault from other male inmates because our men can give him protection,” the spokesperson added.
