Singer GT Da Guitarman opens up on failed marriage in new interview

From the wreckage of broken unions emerge the seeds of wisdom, sown in the fertile soil of experience. Failed marriages are not endings, but stepping stones to deeper self-awareness and emotional healing. This is precisely the perspective GT Da Guitarman embodies in his fresh interview, as he dives into the depths of his past marriage, which clocked in at four years.

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Oluwagbemiro Akingbogun, popularly known as GT Da Guitarman, has ignited a frenzy online with his candid revelations about his crashed four-year-old marriage to Annie Obiageli.

In a recent sit-down with TheCable Lifestyle’s Taiwo Oshunloye, GT Da Guitarman found himself in the hot seat, fielding inquiries about his past acknowledgment of marital separation and facing direct queries about the current status of his relationship with his ex-wife, quizzed about whether they are back together now.

He responded;

While I do appreciate your curiosity, I would like to keep my personal life private. However, I could say my experiences both personal and professional influenced my music and artistic expression in profound ways. Shout out to my ex-wife, she is amazing and I wish her all the best. I am happy we have two amazing kids and that is pretty much what is important right now.

I tell people when they start talking about marriage and whatnot is that it is okay for two people to go their separate ways. The miracle and the magic itself are the fact that they happened at some point in time. Every relationship will come to an end, I mean death is the final. Every relationship has an expiry date.”

In 2016, GT Da Guitarman took the plunge into matrimony with his former partner, but parted ways in 2020, their union blessed with 2 kids.

Rising to prominence during the electrifying era of the early 2000s, GT shot to stardom with the groundbreaking release of ‘Eko Ile’, setting the stage for a career that spans nearly two decades.
