Netizens unleashed a barrage of criticism on renowned Nollywood star Zubby Michael after he took to social media in the wake of his colleague Jnr Pope’s tragic demise.

April 10, 2024, marked a somber chapter for Nollywood as actor Jnr Pope, along with four other crew members, met a watery grave in Anam River, Anambra. Their ill-fated boat capsized while returning from a movie shoot, plunging the industry into mourning.

Just days after the heart-wrenching tragedy, Zubby took to his Instagram page to post a video of himself seemingly kicking back and chilling.

Zubby Michael’s video set off a whirlwind of mixed emotions on social media, sparking a heated debate among netizens.

Many questioned why he hadn’t publicly mourned Jnr Pope online, despite their close relationship and Zubby’s role as the late actor’s best man at his wedding.
