Nigerian Afrobeats singer, David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido has expressed his selective approach towards international partnerships.
According to Davido, the only exception he’s willing to make a collaboration with is the Barbadian singer, Rihanna. This revelation came after Rihanna praised Davido’s hit track ‘Unavailable,’ naming it her top pick.
During an honest conversation on the podcast ‘Sway’s Universe,’ Davido shared his thoughts on future collaborations, stating that Chris Brown is the only American artist he has actively pursued a collaboration with.
He stated that now with Rihanna’s endorsement of his song ‘Unavailable,’ he is hopeful they can produce a song together.
He said:
“Aside Chris Brown, I’m not going to disturb myself for any other American collaboration. Rihanna said ‘Unavailable’ is her best song, so I’m waiting to work with her”
Speaking on his previous work with Chris Brown, Davido stated that their joint effort, ‘Blow My Mind,’ stands as a pinnacle of Afrobeats and American music synergy.
“Blow My Mind’ with Chris Brown was the first US x Afrobeats collaboration to go crazy aside ‘One Dance’,” Davido said.
