Spyro seeks collabo with Portable months after stating their ‘kind of music don’t align’ [VIDEO]

Spyro and Portable set to drop hit single

Budding street-hop singer, Habeeb Okikiola better known by his stage name, Portable has revealed that his colleague, Oluwadipe Oluwasanmi David, alias Spyro requested a collaboration with him.

He made this known in a trending video as he disclosed that the ‘Who’s Your Guy’ hit maker sent an email indicating interest in hopping on a song together.

This is coming almost one year after Spyro stated that he doesn’t see himself working with the Zazuu star, and it led to Portable blasting him for rejecting a collaboration request.

In May 2023, Portable had bragged about how he had been featured by some renowned artistes and went on to question Spyro’s musical talents.

However, it seems Spyro had a change of heart and he sent an audio file with a chorus in it to the Zeh Nation founder. In the video Portable praised Spyro for his talent and how good his chorus is.

Portable revealed how impressed he is with his talent in the recording made by the singer who has bought no less than two houses since he hit stardom.

According to the father of four, when there was no money, nobody rated him but when glory came, they were all coming to him. Portable also shared his plan about the song with the people who were with him.

Spyro also responded in the comment section of Portable’s post:

“My Guy I too believe you … They don’t know what’s coming 😂.”

It may be recalled Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, stirred controversy when he said last year that Portable, is the only artist he would never work with.

According to him, their musical styles are different, and Portable would not be able to perform well if he wrote a song for him. He, however, said Portable is a good singer.

Asked who he would never write a song for, Spyro said:

“Not because I have an issue with him, but because our paths just don’t cross, like, our kinds of music don’t align. Portable, I guess.

“It can’t work. He wouldn’t be able to deliver the kind of music that I would write for him because it’s not his tier.”

Yet in March of 2024, Spyro threatened legal action against bloggers for reporting he stated that he would never feature Portable.

The singer made the threat in a statement through his management, TAP Music Entertainment Limited.

According to the statement, Spyro granted an interview with media personality Do2dtoun in which he stated that he would be unable to write a song for Portable because his style of music is completely different from the Zazu singer.

Some media reports subsequently claimed that Spyro said he cannot work with Portable because the latter is not a good artiste.

In the statement, Spryo’s management debunked the claim and gave a seven-day ultimatum to the bloggers that reported the story to withdraw their claim or face legal action.
