Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, professionally Davido has extended his support to Tunde Onakoya, a prominent chess master aiming to break a Guinness World Record.
Onakoya, aged 29, has captured the attention of many with his quest to set a new mark for the longest chess marathon, targeting an impressive 58 hours of play without a defeat.
Following the recent visit of singer Adekunle Gold to Times Square to show solidarity with Tunde Onakoya, Davido joined in to offer his support.
Videos circulating online captured the moment Davido, accompanied by his wife Chioma, manager Asa Asika, and several other members of his 30BG crew, arrived at the chess venue.
The footage showcased a crowd of Nigerians gathered around Onakoya, drumming and singing in support.
Their excitement soared when they noticed Davido’s presence as they chanted his name ‘OBO’.
Onakoya reciprocated the gesture by warmly embracing the musician before continuing with his game.
