- Toyin Abraham has celebrated her competitor in the Nollywood industry, acknowledging her hard work.
- The actress and mother of one said competition can be positive and hailed Mercy Aigbe for not making it negative.
- Toyin Abraham added that she is proud of Mercy Aigbe and celebrates her for the woman she is becoming.
Nigerian filmmaker cum movie actress Toyin Abraham-Ajeyemi recently extended an olive branch to Mercy Aigbe in a recent post, and she had a lot of flowery words, which she showered her colleague with.
Toyin Abraham stated that while there is fierce competition in Nollywood, she believes it’s time actors celebrate each other, rather than tear themselves down.
Taking her own advice, Toyin Abraham hailed Mercy Aigbe for being a hard worker.
She wrote;
“Today, I want to celebrate two people in Nollywood. Events in time past try to make us competitors and we all know how fierce competition can be in the industry.
The competition often lead to people in the industry taking sides thereby creating ecosystem of competitors and tear-him or her Down syndrome.
Please it is time we celebrate ourselves more rather than compete with ourselves. We need to create ecosystem of more successful people so we can all have more capability to create more successful people.
@realmercyaigbe,I celebrate the woman that you are becoming. You came to the boxoffice in December as a first timer, and you proved your mettle. You gave it your all. You have contributed to the story of strong women in Nollywood.You made many women proud.
Thank you for writing a better story for womanhood when the world is busy writing a different narrative about women. You are a bonafide star. If you come to cinema in December, I owe you one post (Lol, you know I need to sell market o).

Recall Toyin Abraham also extended an olive branch to Funke Akindele, as she did with Mercy Aigbe.
These three actresses rarely saw eye to eye, and although they didn’t publicly fight each other, there was still underlying tension between them, which Toyin Abraham has hopefully managed to ease.
