- Ruth Eze blows hot at those of her colleagues celebrating their late colleague, Junior Pope’s posthumous birthday.
- Ruth Eze questioned if some of them celebrated him when he was alive.
Actress Ruth Eze has boldly spoken out against the hypocrisy in Nollywood, questioning the sincerity of tributes paid to the late Junior Pope.
Her challenge exposes the double standards of those who failed to support Junior Pope during his lifetime but now choose to eulogize him posthumously
Her statement comes after many colleagues took to social media to mourn the actor on what would have been his 44th birthday, May 7th, despite not acknowledging his talent and contributions during his lifetime.
Ruth Eze’s message read:
““Did u ever celebrate him when he was alive? If NO, give me one reason u’re celebrating him now he’s dead”.
“Hypocrites, pls answer me”.
This inquiry has sparked a necessary conversation, as many suspect she is referring to Baba Rex, who posted a tribute but curiously locked his comment section.
Following the demise of Junior Pope, Actress Rita Edochie expresses disbelief, refuses to celebrate her birthday.
Taking to her Instagram page, the sister-in-law of Pete Edochie, stated that she wouldn’t be celebrating her birthday today, April 16, and has chosen to rather dedicate it to Junior Pope.
The thespian noted how the late actor never missed her birthdays and would always call her, send her messages, post her pictures online, and more. Rita stated that she refuses to believe he is dead unless the day ends and she doesn’t receive a reaction from him.
Rita Edochie who is also Yul Edochie’s aunty added that no one’s death in Nollywood has made her this hurt, lamenting how Junior Pope is too young to die.
Making a promise to him, she stated that the memories they shared would remain evergreen in her heart.
