- Singer KCee’s brother has released a statement in reaction to a report that police proved him over dispute of N1.2 billion with a Lagos firm.
- Taking to his official account on the photo and video sharing platform, E-Money shared a screenshot of the report and stamped it with “debunked”.
- The music exec added a statement debunking the report as false.
Music executive Emeka Okonkwo, better known as E-Money, has debunked a report that he was probed by the police over a N1.2 billion dispute with a Autocrop Limited.
The businessman in a statement on Thursday, May 9 described the report as “misleading and do not represent facts of the matter.”
The statement read:
“Our attention has been drawn to the Punch Newspaper publication affecting the person of E-Money, the CEO of Emy Cargo & Shipping Services Limited. The pieces of information contained in the said publication are misleading and do not represent the facts of the matter.
“Unequivocally, the news alleging a Police probe into a N1.2 billion dispute between E-Money and Autocorp Limited is not an accurate representation of facts. The Nigeria Police is investigating a report by Autocorp Limited against Emy Cargo & Shipping Services Limited on a business transaction regarding the clearing of vehicles in the year 2019/2020.
“Unreservedly, E-money, and Emy Cargo & Shipping Services Limited have visited the Police as a law abiding citizen to give accurate details of the business dealings.
Accordingly, we urge the public to refrain from spreading unfounded rumors and sensationalized information. The truth of the situation is far more nuanced and does not warrant the sensationalism portrayed in recent reports. Thank you. #itistoolatetofailamen.”
In February, renowned Nigerian musician and music executive, Kingsley Chinweike Okonkwo better known as KCee alleged that his former signee, Harrison Tare Okiri, better known by his stage name Harrysong, forged his signature to collect funds from clients.
This came weeks after Harrysong called out the 5 star records label managed by Kcee and his brother E-money for withholding his royalties.
Reacting to him in an interview on ‘The Afrobeat Podcast’, Kcee explained that Harrysong has a criminal case of forging he and his brother’s signature to collect money from their client.
