Popular Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao has opened up on a distressing ordeal she faced due to fake news spread about her online.

In an interview with The Tribune Newspaper, Eniola Ajao disclosed how she nearly resorted to harming herself after being deeply affected by the circulation of fake news concerning her.

Eniola Ajao shared that the fabricated news, which she did not explicitly specify, deeply impacted her mental and emotional well-being.

The actress revealed that the misinformation led her to the brink of self-harm, causing her to refrain from eating for seven consecutive days.

This alarming behavior reportedly caused concern among her close family members, including her sister and son.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Ajao expressed the intense emotional turmoil she endured during that period.

She recounted feeling isolated and unable to carry out her daily activities due to the distress caused by the false news.

“I almost poisoned myself because there was something about me that was put online. The news about me was far from being true. I didn’t eat for like seven days, and people that were around me can testify to this. I couldn’t go anywhere. This was around the same time when I was planning my movie. My sister, my son, everyone was calling me because the story came from nowhere and I felt terrible,” Ajao shared during the interview.
